What is a contact manager?

A contact manager is a software application used to store and search contact information easily.

Contact managers use to be integrated in email clients and the most used format to interchange that information is vCard.

The information stored about each contact is not only name and email address. It's also possible to add work and home addresses, photos, logos, anniversaries, hobbies, notes and many other things.
