enable codec in Ubuntu Linux

Post by ericktux »

Hello everyone, please know the steps to enable codecs in Ubuntu Linux 24.10
or do you know a website to download them already enabled, because in normal Windows it builds but takes about 10 hours and my CPU heats up a lot, please help me :(

Hi,

Read the following pages :
  • https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/cef/wiki/AutomatedBuildSetup.md
I've never tried to build the Linux binaries with codecs but I think you should add "proprietary_codecs=true ffmpeg_branding=Chrome" to GN_DEFINES in the official build script you can see in the second link.
